What is NYRCC all about?

This site is dedicated to helping people with the hobby and to help new people find information that they need to get into this hobby. There are many areas which someone can enjoy, and the person has to decide what they like and persue it. I am talking about things like airplanes, helicopters, float planes, boats, cars etc.

Plus there are other decisions that a new individual needs to make such as do they want to use electric powered, nitro powered or go as far as Turbine Jet powered. These are all decisions that a new comer into the hobby needs to make.

Radio Control Airplanes: There are many clubs in New York State and neighboring areas that specialize in Airplanes, Gliders and Helicopters. All clubs are always looking for new members so check out one in your area.

Clubs: Find a club in your local area. There are many radio control clubs through out New York State and you can find one near you. Just click on the area of New York State that you live in and see how many clubs are around that city. Have your club listed here for FREE, just email the webmaster at webmaster@nyrcc.com

Events: Find a Radio Control event near you. Most events are open to the general public and offer information about the Clubs and demonstrations of flight. All clubs are devoted to getting new members. Join us during the 2007 season in the Capital District of NY for 3 Giant Events. Second Annual Capitol Area Warbirds over Schenectady, CapitoljetsIII 2007 and then the EPA Funfly at Maalwyck Park in Scotia.

Hobby Shops: Local Hobby Shops can provide you with a wealth of information from their owners and also they will offer you a wide range of hobby kits and accessories. The hobby shop will also be able to suggest a local Club that can help you get into the air fast. and safely while protecting your investment. Also listed are hobby shops where you can order what you need on the Internet.

Web Links: These are links to various sites on the Web where you will find a wealth of information concerning the hobby.
If you are a beginner, there are links that are dedicated to learning the basics of flying.

Also there are links to magazines etc all associated with a wealth of knowledge in R/C.

All Clubs are members of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and follow AMA safety rules. All clubs will encourage you to join the AMA which offers so many benefits. Click on the AMA logo on the top left of this site to find out what is offered. Also for anyone in the northeast, check out the AMA District 2 website by clicking on the logo on the top right side of this page.
